Mentors…

โShow me a successful individual and Iโll show you someone who had real positive influences in his or her life. I donโt care what you do for a livingโif you do it well Iโm sure there was someone cheering you on or showing the way. A mentor.โ
– Denzel Washington
…& who they are..
A mentor is someone who has successfully done, ten times over, what you are trying to do. They are those who have climbed the mountain we all aspire to climb. Mentors have swum where there’s to swim, endured what there’s to endure, and overcame all the obstacles and hardships that came their way. They’ve seen and done everything and knows what to do when and what not to do at all and there like. They’re those who have reached a level we aspire to reach, in a career field or in any endeavour, where we want to get -they are at a stage where we aren’t, and that is why we look up to them..
These are the kind of people we ought to keep around. I’ve created a relationship with such people, I listen when they talk and apply their guidance, and I’m watching our lives transform. You’ll bare witness with us.

Mentors are seen as the encyclopedia or the reference points or idols or role models or information centers or guidian angels, etc all of those embodied in human being. Mind you, they have lived! and they are living here amongst us on earth. They do everyday things with the very basic fundamentals of what they are doing. Their routines, precise judgements and styles are those what make us love and admire them. It turns out that, they do the basic things well, which gives them a good stand in solving problems from the start.
“Itโs their style of reaching the top we learn and adapt to. Itโs their way of life we learn. Itโs their traits we copy. Itโs their ways we watch.”

…why they should even be considered to help transform our lives..
- First of all, mentors help mentees troubleshoot problems they face. During an existing relationship between a mentor and a mentee, there comes certain periods when assistance is needed to solve complex problems, mentors are those who make a difficult problem seem easier.
- Secondly, mentors show us the shortest ways for reaching different levels in our pursuit. As already mentioned, mentors have done it all. They’ve made the mistakes and know what works perfectly and what doesn’t. They then recommend the best practices during mentorship.
- Mostly importantly, they hold you accountable. This is important because, when you’re held account for anything, you tend to do the thing to the best of your abilities. Being held held accountable also goes to prove that there’s a certain guide over you which is in the long-term vital and helpful.
With these facts mentioned above, mentors altogether make things easy for us. Stuff that could cost individuals a lot of time to complete doing, is cut down significally with teams and then there are mentors…, they make things seem easy with a lot of guidance and direction.

โWeโre here for a reason. I believe a bit of the reason is to throw little torches out to lead people through the dark.โ -Whoopi Goldberg
“I think the greatest thing we give each other is encouragement…knowing that I’m talking to someone in this mentoring relationship who’s interested in the big idea here is very, very important to me. I think if it were just about helping me get to the next step, it would be a heck of a lot less interesting.” โ Anne Sweeney
The use to somethings are relative. An example is, someone only use the television set to watch news, documentaries, etc about agriculture, in hopes on being better informed and then uses the information for whatever he or she wants. On the other hand, someone also use the television set for entertainment. Someone also uses it for a whole different thing altogether. When it comes to the same item, people have various views.
Having a different perspective on things has the tendency to minimize some workload as a means of positively playing tricks with the mind. Two everyday basic things that everyone has different views on is how we spend our time and how and what we use our phones for. Also, for a second, consider how people view and utilize money for a moment.
I say these because itโs important to start noticing and recognizing the worth of some people or things; take action and make use of them for our benefits and growth.

Mentors are those who can guide us through whatever we want to accomplish, but we have to identify them before other simple build-up actions follow.
As learners in life or in anything, it is always best to consider ourselves less at most times and use everything else as tools for building up. It is always a great practice to be a better version of ourselves than we were the day before. Consider these life tools below and leave your thoughts and comments about them in the comments section:
..books, time, money, mentors, systems, businesses, teams (people), dictionary, database, etc
…finding them..
Before choosing someone to mentor you, you may first want to analyse some of these to arrive at a concrete decision of who and you need a a mentor and why you need such a person as a mentor. You may want to consider these four steps before choosing people as mentors;
- Defining your goals is essential. In everyday life, if you don’t know where you’re going, you simple don’t move. The same sense applies here. If you don’t or haven’t defined what you want to do or where you want to go, you simply can not ask anyone for help! Therefore, defining our goals and knowing what you are about is inevitable the first step to consider before any other thing else.
- Because this whole idea is to find a mentor, after identifying your career goals and objectives, the next thing to do is to identify role models in the space you find yourself. Note that, mentors may not be people you necessarily know, therefore, consider your chosen path people you can get to who have achieved and exceeded your goal 10x over. Such people are best to help your navigate easy paths on your journey. Thus, identify role models.
- The last but one thing to do is to narrow down to someone in your network and / or industry you can look up to and connect for this purpose. You may also consider certain abilities and traits of that someone and then create a link between you two.
- The link created between you and someone you choose as mentor should be a professional one. This will send the nltion of seriousness
